Did you know that Iron Man was Marvel’s first self-financed movie? And it’s going to do so well! Congrats to Marvel, for finding their new star. Hopefully the Iron Man franchise becomes their new cash cow.
Speaking of film financing, there’s this fantastic concept for a movie in the works: Nazis landed on the “dark side of the moon” sometime during World War 2, and now that they’ve set up a colony there, they’re sending their dark armies back to Earth in 2018. Catch the quite awesome sneak peek here.
You can go to their website and buy “war bonds” to help finance the movie. These aren’t actual bonds, they’re just memorabilia from the film that you buy to help support the production costs. This is the Web 2.0 model applied to film financing. Smart!
